It all began innocently enough. Equipped with my beloved Kindle (a gift from my favorites) and a firm resolve to keep a low profile, I arrived at the doctor's office for my appointment. Little did I know that fate had a different plan in store for me. As I settled into the uncomfortable waiting room chair, a commotion caught my attention.

Across the room, an irate patient was making their displeasure known to everyone present. They were ranting loudly about the extensive wait and demanding immediate attention. Naturally, my instincts kicked in, and I did what any sensible person would do—I kept my head down, avoided all eye contact, and silently prayed to go unnoticed.

However, it seemed that Murphy's Law had other ideas. Just as I started to feel a glimmer of hope that I had escaped their attention, I made the unfortunate mistake of briefly looking up from my Kindle. It felt as if the universe conspired against me. Last week, as I was leisurely strolling home from the grocery store, minding my own business, fate had a surprise in store for me. BAM! I found myself taking a comically embarrassing tumble. Now, let me tell you, I'm no delicate flower—I'm a big girl—but in that glorious moment, I felt like I fell with the elegance of a ballerina in slow motion. It felt like time itself hit the pause button just for me. Luckily, no paparazzi were lurking around to capture my epic spill on their cell phones. Phew! Who wants to be in an endless loop on social media, right?

Unfortunately, my trusty brand-new eyeglasses didn't emerge unscathed. The left lens suffered a series of scratches. Thank you to Zenni Optical, for creating durable eyeglasses that can withstand life's unexpected spills. Let me tell you, if it hadn't been for those eyeglasses and some divine intervention, my face would have resembled a battlefield. While my left knee only sustained minor scratches, my right knee bore the marks of a well-worn skateboard ramp. And let's not forget those invisible scratches on my nose—tiny badges of honor that can be felt but not seen.

Thank heavens for the guardian angel who came to my rescue. Bless her little old kind heart, when I say little, she was about 100 pounds soaking wet; however, her face reflected genuine concern. She tried her best to lift me, once, twice, three times, but I had to gently break it to her, saying, "Sis, you can't lift me! Heck, I couldn't even lift myself!" As fate would have it, I tumbled in the middle of the sidewalk not too far from the curb near a parked car, setting the stage for an unforgettable scene. Imagine this: me, a big girl crawling on the ground, my right knee throbbing in agony (ironically, that's my "good" knee), slowly inching my way toward that magnificent vehicle. And what came to my aid? The side view mirror! Oh yes, I clung to that shiny, reflective savior as if my life depended on it, while my petite companion did her best once again to assist me. It was truly a sight to behold, let me assure you.
